I drove Toby and friends to start their hike on the Wonderland Trail around Mt Rainier this week. They left from Longmire and hiked 33 miles in 3 days. I could not miss the opportunity to hike with them for a couple of miles. It was STEEP! both up and down. At the two mile mark I turned off on the Rampart Ridge trail that looped around back to Longmire in 3 more miles. Hiking by myself was awesome with spider webs across the trail. I carried my borrowed bear whistle just in case, but not luck seeing bears. Such a fun day!
